Women’s Guild

The Women’s Guild of The Church in Aurora is a community of women who join together in faith and fellowship to foster spiritual growth and to serve God, the church, and the community.

Membership is open to all women of The Church in Aurora’s congregation and the greater community who share our purpose.  There are no dues.

Women’s Guild has responded financially to the needs of the church and the greater community through special fundraising events like the Rummage Sales in the spring and fall.  A few of the recent organizations that have received support from Women’s Guild include: Haven Home, The Haven of Portage County, Family and Community Services, and the Volunteers of America, as well as various ministries of The Church in Aurora.

All women of the church and community are invited to gather from 1-3 PM on the second Wednesday of the month from September through May for fellowship, an interesting program, and light refreshments in Fellowship Hall.  Join us!  We’re saving a place for you at our table.

The Circles of Women’s Guild

Women’s Guild presently supports three circles (or smaller groups) which provide additional opportunities for fellowship, fun and service.  Contact the church for timely information at 330-562-8266. You are welcome to join them!

Circle D meets at Club Walden at noon for lunch and fellowship followed by rousing card games, on the first Wednesday of each month September – May (except January).  They collect a monetary donation for the local Volunteers of America food pantry at Christmas-time.

Circle 3-H “Helping Hands Bring Hope” is a hands-on circle which meets on the first Friday of each month September-May (except January), at 10:00 AM in Fellowship Hall, sometimes followed by an optional lunch at an area restaurant.  Members of this circle provide backpacks and school supplies for needy children in our area.

They fill Christmas mugs with candy, and wrap gifts for the homeless living in local shelters.  They make boxes of home-made Valentine’s Day chocolates in support of the Workcampers.  They prepare monthly meals in coordination with Christian Education for Haven Home, a Cleveland overflow homeless shelter. Two times a year, they visit various non-profit facilities in the area and discover their needs.    Their hands are always busy and their hearts are always warm!

Circle PSM – Prayer Shawl Ministry meets from 6 to 8 pm on the second Thursday of each month (September-May).  They do a Christian study and (optional) handiwork, which includes knitting and crocheting baby afghans, comfort shawls, and prayer squares.  This circle also adopts a family for Christmas.
