What We Believe

At The Church in Aurora, we are a community of Christians who come from more than 30 different denominational backgrounds. Our strength is not found in uniformity of thought but in unity of spirit and purpose.

We are guided by a simple conviction from our governing documents:

“The members of this church shall have the undisturbed right to follow the Word of God according to the dictates of their own consciences.”

A Community of Many Traditions

We honor the breadth of Christian tradition. In our pews you will find lifelong Presbyterians and Methodists, Roman Catholics and Baptists, Episcopalians and Lutherans, Pentecostals and Quakers—and many who claim no single denominational identity. This diversity enriches our worship, challenges us to grow, and helps us see God’s truth from many angles.

Freedom of Conscience

We do not tell people what to believe. Instead, we help one another learn how to believe—how to read Scripture with openness, how to ask faithful questions, how to listen for the voice of God in daily life. We trust that each person’s conscience, shaped by the Holy Spirit and guided by the Bible, is sacred and worthy of respect.

Unity in Mission

Though our backgrounds differ, we are united in purpose: to love God and neighbor, to follow the way of Jesus, and to serve our community and world. Together, we worship, learn, and act in ways that bear witness to God’s grace and justice.

Our Commitment

  • Inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus
  • Questions, doubts, and curiosity are part of the journey
  • Serving our neighbors near and far
  • Growing together in compassion, humility, and love
  • A welcoming church where everyone belongs

At The Church in Aurora, faith is not about agreement on every detail. It is about growing in love for God, for one another, and for the world God so loves.

Currently, we meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11 AM for Worship. The traditional service is approximately 40 minutes in duration.
