If you have been around The Church in Aurora for a while, then you know that Rally Day is the beginning of our program year. Summer is over, people are around more, and we move into full operation. Below are some of the things that will be starting up the week of September 11.
Annual Church Potluck Picnic
The annual Church Picnic will be held on Sunday September 11th following the service. Fellowship Committee will provide hamburgers, hot dogs , drinks and an ice cream truck, we are asking members to contribute side dishes and desserts. Our committee will have sign up tables before and after the services on August 14th and August 21, please stop by! We would like an estimate of people attending for food purchasing, as well as an idea of what other food items we may need to provide. If you cannot stop in please call the office to RSVP.
Small Group Studies
A number of small group and adult learning opportunities will be available on Sunday mornings and throughout the week – with morning and evening options.
Church school will begin for all ages beginning at 10am. So, parents will bring their children to Promiseland before going into the sanctuary for worship. Parents will pick their children up in Promiseland following worship.
Our youth ministry will pick up to be meeting more regularly. As we continue to search for a full-time candidate, more information will be available.
Our Chancel Choir is actually returning just before Rally Day. They will hold rehearsals on August 11 and August 25 at 7pm in preparation of their August 28 debut. If you would like more information about the Chancel Choir, please reach out to Ross Downing at email@example.com.
The Bell Choir will begin rehearsals in early September. They are also looking for new members. If you are high school age and up, and can read music, then the Bell Choir would be a great place to serve and add to our worship services throughout the year. To learn more information about Bell Choir, reach out to Nancy Olson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
