The Caring Tree at The Church in Aurora is ready to spread holiday joy! You can help local families in Aurora and nearby areas celebrate the season by ensuring there are presents under their trees.
We’re excited to kick off this year’s Caring Tree and share the spirit of giving!
Here are the ways you can participate this year:
Gifts for Individuals
- These gifts are the most needed this holiday season.
- Choose a tag from the tree on or after Nov. 23 or use the sign-up genius link below to select what gifts you’d like to donate.
- Label all gifts clearly with the assigned number(s) and/or letter(s) from the sign-up.
- Please spend no more than $75 per person.
- Do not wrap the gifts. This allows parents to personalize them for their children.
- Consider donating wrapping supplies such as paper, tape, ribbons, and bows.
- Large gift bags are highly recommended to keep all items for one person together.
Winter Coats for the Salvation Army of Portage County
- Choose a tag from the tree on or after Nov. 23 or use the sign-up genius link below to select what type of new winter coat you want to donate.
- Coats will be collected in a large bin in the Great Hall (please no gift bags).
- Coats will not have numbers attached this year.
Coats are a wonderful addition, but if you’re choosing where to focus your giving, the gifts for specific individuals are most needed right now.
This year’s Caring Tree supports: Aurora Community Relief, CASA of Portage County, Salvation Army of Portage County, Safer Futures and Safer Path (Kent and Ravenna), and Haven of Rest (Akron).
Dropping off Gifts
Mark your calendar for a drive-through drop-off on Thursday, December 4th from 5:30-6:00pm. Volunteers will be ready to collect your donations as you pull up to the church.
The final drop-off day is Sunday, December 7th, 8:45-10:30am so please bring all remaining gifts to the church to ensure they reach families in time for the holidays.
Thank you for being a part of The Caring Tree at The Church in Aurora! Your generosity is helping families in Aurora and the surrounding areas celebrate this Christmas with presents under their trees.
The Caring Tree will be set up in the Great Hall starting November 24. You can also sign up via the Sign-Up Genius button below.
